Guideline and Prospect

    The School Economics and Trade is at the service of the economy development in Guangdong. It is guided by the conversion of way of thinking. We attach great importance to the discipline construction and the building of the ranks of teachers. We have teaching quality as core and strive to improve the level of scientific research to promote its application so as to greatly enhance operating efficiency. We focus on undergraduate professional education and actively create conditions to carry out post-graduate education, to foster high-quality, application-oriented and high-level talents. We strive to build it into a first-class educational and practical economic and trade school in 2010. The goals of our development scale are to have about 2000 full-time enrolled students by the year 2010, including 10-20 postgraduates, 1600 undergraduates, and 400 non-degree graduates; to have one postgraduate specialty; to have 6 courses for both undergraduate and non-degree graduate students. Our goal-orientations in development of qualified talents in 2010are that there will be 70 professional teachers, containing 10 professors and 30 associate professors; and the senior title’s ratio will achieve above 55%; the rate of teachers with or the master degree or above will reach 85% or more. Teachers with "double certificates" will take up a proportion of 30% in the total number. We will train or bring in 6 academic leaders and 15 teachers with doctors’ degree, to finally form a stronger and more well-structured academic echelon formation of teachers.
