Electronics Information Engineering School Survey

     Established in May 1986, it endured the name of Physics Department, Electronics Engineering Department and finally Electronics Information Engineering Department. It is equipped with compunication staff room, automatic control staff room, electronic and electric staff room, ground work teaching staff room, labs and offices. It has the general higher education undergraduate course as follows: electronics information engineering, electronics information engineering education, communication engineering, communication engineering education, appliance electronic technology education, electric engineering and automation, photons information science and technology; and a 3-year speciality: electronics information engineering; adult education(undergraduates):computer science and technology, computer science and technology(software engineering),electronics engineering; (3-year courses): communication engineering, computer appliance, computer(software)and appliance electronics technology. The school has 1650 students on campus and it has established a considerable large and multiplayer schooling system. Some students further their study as postgraduates in SCUT after graduation from the school. The employment for the graduates in 2003 and 2004 are 94% and 96% respectively.

    The school aims at “solid foundation, broad appliance, high qualifications” and has its own schooling characteristics. The school has made dedication on subjects building. The course “multimedia technology” was listed in the province-class key courses. While strengthening electronic teaching, the school takes the lead in applying internet teaching and using electronic teaching plan to enlarge the information given during each class, and this helps in the students’ self study. It takes the lead in applying original English text book and bilingual education. It also takes the lead in setting up practical training courses in the industrial center and applying the “3+0.5+0.5”training pattern to encourage operation ability. We won respectively the first, the second and the third prize in national college student electron design contest and the “challenge cup” science and technology contest. 100% of the graduates from the school got 2 certificates, namely the graduation certificate and the high-new vocational technology certificate. The school has established a cooperation and communication relationship with the automation school of Tsing Hua University. The school sends off students to Tsing Hua University to widen their view and refresh their thoughts.
