1. Practical Teaching

   ITC is an excellent platform of running undergraduate education, promoting teaching reformation and fostering high quality professional talents in our university. The main task is to guide students in their training or practice, and help them to improve vocational skills, foster innovation spirit and practical ability. According to different subjects, we have established 12 training sections, and offer multi-level services for practical teaching of different specialties to meet the requirement of students, such as computer science, electronics & information engineering, automation, mechanical-electrical engineering, artistic design, education technology, finance & economics, foreign language and tourism & hotel management. At present, intramural & extramural practical teaching, occupational skill training & appraisal and vocational education teachers-training are carried out in ITC.

2. Scientific Research and Development

   Since the establishment of ITC, it has persisted in the direction of teaching-centered, research-oriented, and combining the teaching with research and production. With the idea of “market-oriented, enterprises-centered”, we have relied on the high-level teacher group in our university to establish Virtual Laboratories, Embed Laboratory, EDA Laboratory, Fast & Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory, Sensors Application Laboratory and so on. At present, we hold advanced devices or software of SMT, UG, ANSYS, numerical control lathes, video production, reverse engineering and automatic prototyping. According to self-advantage, we have established the scientific research stratagem which emphasizes on developing vocational education equipments. Teaching equipments, such as the high quality resource-sharing platform of education, intelligent system of training & appraisal, small flexible production line, have been designed and developed in ITC. A strong scientific research talents group is necessary for ITC to keep the leading status of technology. Now, 90% of teachers in ITC are scientific and technical personnel, among all the teachers 50% have master degree, 35% are senior teachers, others are with medium title of technician post.

3. Training and Production

   ITC is in possession of a great deal of advanced education resource, and is undertaking an important task to bring up talents for economy construction of Guangdong province. We have so far set up wide contacts with Guangdong Employment Guidance Center of University Graduate, talent intermediary agencies of Shenzhen, Shunde, Dongguan , Panyu and so on, and other schools and signed the agreement to foster talents cooperatively.

4. Occupational skill testing and appraisal

   Occupational Skill Testing Authorization Station is located in ITC and is authorized to train and appraise 46 kinds of occupational skills, which are necessary for primary, intermediate, senior workers, technicians and senior technicians, by Guangdong Provincial Labour and Social Security Department. Also, it is one of the first Guangdong provincial high quality professionaltalents fostering bases, which is responsible to train & appraise technicians, senior technicians in such three fields as household electric appliance repairing, air-condition & refrigeration devices repairing and numerical control and is the only one which is approved of training & appraisal senior technicians in these fields. We have established a high-level experts group and most of the experts are qualified with Professional Skill Appraiser and Senior Appraiser. What’s more, with the advanced equipment and devices, we can meet different kinds of requirements of training and appraisal.

   What’s more, recently we are undertaking a task of composing appraisal standards of new occupational skills, such as digital video production, digital printing, SMT production and ERP financial affairs management.
