Introduction to the School of Literature

Enjoying a longest history as a part of Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, the School of Literature is entitled to offer a master degree education and a bachelor degree education. The master education, called China Contemporary Literature, consists of Modern Chinese Literature Research, Contemporary China Stylistics Research, Thoughts on Contemporary Chinese Literature Research, and China's Contemporary Literature Creation and Comments Research. The bachelor education, called Chinese Language and Literature, includes four directions: Chinese Language and Literature (Non-Normal direction), Chinese Language and Literature (Normal direction), Secretaries trained in Chinese and English, Cultural and artistic undertakings management.

The school employs a rich rank of 56 teachers, among whom 10 are professors, 19 associate professors, 14 of them with doctor degree. More than 20 person-times were engaged in the leadership of academic organizations at or above the provincial level, like the Secretary-General of China Contemporary Literature Research Association, the Vice-president of Contemporary Chinese Ethnic Literature Research Association, the president and the Secretary-General of Guangdong Modern Writers Research Association, the Secretary-General of Guangdong Modern Literature Research Council, the executive director and the Secretary-General of the Guangdong Writing Institute, the Vice-president of Ancient National Literary Theory Research Council, and the president of Ancient Guangdong Literary Theory Research Council, etc.

The school insists in the teaching running idea of strengthening the roots and developing applications, cultivating the students into qualified talents who, with a pioneering, innovative and progressive spirit, are excellent in spoken-Chine, handwriting, and works writing, and with a CET certificate and a post qualification certificate.

The school has been cultivating lots of students with strong ability to practice and thinking of high quality, who mainly work as publicity staff, Secretaries and teachers in party and government organizations, enterprises and education systems at all levels.
