Introduction to the School of Mechanics and Electronics

    In November 2002, the School of Mechanics and Electronics (CME) was founded by reconstructing the former GuangdongMachinerySchool. Currently, the CME boasts 48 faculties, among whom 8 are professors and 8 with Doctor’s Degree. Younger teachers have become the main part of the school. All the staff are of high professional ethics and diverse academic disciplines. Most of them possess sound basic theories and profound practical experience, forming a high standard in teaching and scientific research.

    The laboratory facilities for teaching and scientific research in the CME are fully equipped, including an advanced IndustrialPracticeCenter, a Simulated Manufactory and various specialized laboratories for basis learning and machinery study. The CAD/CAM Training Center contains different numerical control machine tools and kinds of software, such as Pro/E, UG, MasterCAM, etc. The CEM is also qualified to grade advanced and middle level of vocational machinery skills. The school not only provides ideal laboratory and training platform in teaching and scientific research for teachers and students in the school, but also offers kinds of training courses on NC and die equipment for outsiders. Meanwhile, the school undertakes scientific research and processing business in the design and manufacturing of NC and die equipment. A variety of NC contests are organized or undertaken in the CME, which help establish a firm footing for students’ professional education.
